Join the Working Group on Girls - Advocate for Girls' Rights at the United Nations

The Working Group on Girls (WGG) is a collection of NGOs working for girls, with girls at the United Nations. Since the 1995 Beijing Declaration and Platform for Action, we have championed the rights, voices, and futures of girls worldwide. Membership means joining a legacy of advocacy that has shaped international policy for nearly three decades.

Why Become a Member?

Shape International Policy for Girls

WGG members contribute directly to advocacy at the United Nations — from the Commission on the Status of Women (CSW) to the International Day of the Girl Summit. Your organization's voice helps shape the global agenda for girls' rights.

Join a Powerful Coalition

Stand alongside 30+ member organizations — from the Girl Scouts of the USA and the Salvation Army to the Feminist Majority Foundation and Zonta International. Together, we are stronger than any single organization working alone.

Advance Girls' Rights Across Critical Issues

WGG works to end gender-based violence, expand access to education and healthcare, promote economic empowerment, and ensure girls are represented in peace and security frameworks. Members contribute to the issues that matter most to their communities.

Amplify Girls' Voices in Decision-Making

Through initiatives like the Girls Caucus and local consultations, WGG ensures that girls themselves are heard in the spaces where decisions are made. Members help create those opportunities.

Access Resources, Research & Collaboration

Members share tools, best practices, and disaggregated data to ensure girls are acknowledged in every sector of society — urban and rural, local and global.

Connect with UN Missions & Agencies

WGG maintains strong relationships with UN Permanent Missions, UNICEF, UN Women, and other UN Funds and Agencies. Membership gives your organization access to this network.
