Our Work at the WGG

With Membership Organizations working in partnership with Girls:

Advocate for the ongoing inclusion and development of girls' rights and dignity through the work of the UN systems and structures.
Ensure that national governments implement, through policy statements, program development and resource allocation, the commitments to girls' rights made through international agreements.
Actively recruit and welcome new organizations to help us set and achieve collective goals needed to bring this work to fruition.

Subcommittee Work

Outreach

Takes the lead on expanding WGG membership, engaging new Members, and strengthening connections amongst Members.

Communications

Takes the lead on coordinating the communications strategy of the Working Group on Girls including updating and managing the WGG website, e-newsletter and social media channels in collaboration with other sub-committees as required.

Advocacy

Takes the lead on conducting UN Mission visits and drafting statements for various UN forums and commissions based on girls' inputs and recommendations to advocate for the implementation of their global commitment to girls' rights in collaboration with all members.

Girls Participation

Takes the lead on coordinating the engagement, participation and training of girls to advocate for themselves at various UN forums and commissions in collaboration with the other sub-committees.
